ILLUMINATING LINCOLN:
Lighth Bulb
LIGHTHOUSE
A Public Art Project Celebrating the 25th Anniversary
of Lighthouse
ILLUMINATING LINCOLN: LIGHTHOUSE is a Public Art Project – modeled after such projects as the Cows on Parade in Chicago and Lincoln’s Bikes – Tour de Lincoln – and will be a part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of Lighthouse in 2015. The concept for the Project is a six foot Light Bulb – an icon of illumination – using fiberglass with a polyurethane resin. Nebraska Artists have submitted amazing and imaginative proposals using the Light Bulb as their canvas and the 68 proposals selected by a jurying process will be on display for individuals, businesses or groups of friends to sponsor. A sponsorship of $3000 will allow an Artist to transfer their creative vision and complete a full-size sculpture for public display throughout Lincoln from May 1 – September, 2015.
Question – I would like to learn more about Sponsoring a Light Bulb for ILLUMINATING LINCOLN: LIGHTHOUSE. How does a Sponsorship work?
A Sponsorship is $3,000, which is a 100% deductible donation. A Sponsorship allows an Artist to carry through with the design idea they have submitted for the Project. The Sponsor will be able to suggest a private display location in Lincoln (visible to the public) and have a permanent plaque with their name or business name on the base of the sculpture as a Patron of the Artist and Lighthouse.
In addition to other tax deductible gifts you may have already made in 2014, this $3,000 ILLUMINATING LINCOLN: LIGHTHOUSE Sponsorship could also be made in January, 2015.
All the Sponsored Light Bulbs will be on display throughout Lincoln from May 1, 2015 – September, 2015. Following the display period the Light Bulbs will be auctioned. The person or entity (business/organization) with the winning bid will receive the sculpture to display at a private or approved public location. One-third of the bid amount will go to the Artist, with the remainder going to support Lighthouse.
